He also assists
his clients with the formation and protection of their business
entities and assets with special attention to harmonious relations
between partners and shareholders.
In addition to his av rating and "Rising Star"
status, testament to Alembiks effectiveness is his having
won multi-million dollar jury verdicts and having litigated, arbitrated
and mediated many hundreds of other legal disputes to successful
resolution.
Alembik's most satisfying professional accomplishments, however,
have been those that did not get into the courts or the headlines:
Negotiated resolutions that avoided litigation and preserved
constructive business relationships.
An attorney
who negotiates and drafts agreements is more effective when he has
also tried courtroom cases involving commercial issues. By the same
token, an attorney who litigates commercial issues is more effective
when he is armed with real world experience in negotiating and drafting
contracts. Alembiks transactional and litigation expertise
has thus enabled him to provide his clients a fairly unique perspective
in addressing their legal needs. His track record representing title
insurance companies has also given him a valuable perspective on
issues related to real estate.
A Phi Beta
Kappa graduate of Drew
University in New Jersey, Alembik went on to earn a Juris Doctorate
from the University
of Georgia School of Law where he was elected to be the Executive
Editor of the GEORGIA
JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE LAW. Alembik has studied
at the Institut
dEtudes Politiques de Paris, the Université
Libre de Bruxelles, the Hague
Academy of International Law, and the United Nations Secretariat.
While in law school, Alembik was elected to chair the International
Law Students Association of the American Society of International
Law.
| Alembik
has published several articles on issues of international competition
and corporate law. He regularly lectures on various legal topics
at continuing legal education seminars, and to other non-legal
organizations. He has made TV
appearances as a legal commentator, and provided consultation
on state legislation to Georgia legislators and study groups. |

In addition
to practicing law in the Atlanta area, Alembik has worked at law
firms in London, England and Paris, France. Alembik speaks English
(native), French (bilingual) and Spanish (proficient). Although
he has been a lawyer since 1991, Alembik has been working in the
legal field in various capacities (courthouse runner, law clerk,
legal assistant) for almost 30 years.
Alembik is
admitted to practice before all trial and appellate courts of the
State of Georgia, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for
the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. The National Association
of Consumer Advocates, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, DeKalb
County Bar Association, Lawyers Club of Atlanta, and Real Estate
Section of the State Bar of Georgia count Alembik as one of their
active members.
Alembik is
a third generation Atlantan and second generation Atlanta attorney.
He is the sixth member of his immediate family to practice law in
Atlanta. (A seventh "Alembik" has recently been admitted
to the bar.) Alembik attended and graduated from the Westminster
Schools in Atlanta.
Alembik's personal interests include raising his two children, landscaping
his property, architecture, politics, and military history.
